Jonathan Williams BSc(Hons) MRICS is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors qualifying as a Chartered Building Surveyor in November 1996.  He has over 30 years’ experience within the property industry having worked in several different surveying disciplines. During this time he has spent the majority as an employee for local authorities, as a consultant surveyor and for a privately owned family estate.  He established Salt Building Surveying Limited in February 2015 to offer his skills to a wider spread of clients and to focus on his core competencies.

In the last twelve months

  • Tendered and administrated a contract to supply and install tensioned fabric screens to Watford Market
  • Tendered and appointed a consultant design team for the conversion of the basement and ground floor of retail premises with a 5 storey mixed use building in Central London including writing the specification, project management and liaison with both the Client and prospective tenant
  • Designed, specified, tendered and administrated the comprehensive refurbishment of the sanitary provision within a 5 storey office development in Central London for a private Client.
  • Undertaken residential and commercial building surveys for prospective purchasers
  • Undertaken a detailed condition survey of two blocks of flats, 5 houses and two garage blocks to produce a 5-year maintenance plan for a Housing Association in Beaconsfield
  • Specified, tendered and administrated a contract to undertake external repairs to 3Nr lightwells in a large residential block near Leicester Square
  • Project managed the construction and installation of a new modular building adjacent a Lido for the London Borough of Hillingdon
  • Specified and tendered the supply and installation of new modular buildings at two bowls clubs and a traditional extension to a third
  • Provide professional advice with respect to the procurement of a new visitor centre/museum for a Local Authority
  • Surveyed and reported on the structural integrity of brickwork vaults within a Grade II listed cellar for the London Borough of Hillingdon


In the last five years:

  • Tendered and appointed a consultant design team for the installation of a lift into a Grade II listed Georgian office block in Central London including writing the specification, project management and liaison with both the Client and prospective tenant
  • Designed, specified and tendered and administrated the refurbishment of three flats within Central for a private Client.
  • Undertaken residential and commercial building surveys for prospective purchasers
  • Undertake a defects investigation of a residential development, identifying and recommending remedial measures and monitoring subsequent works
  • Specified, tendered and administrated a contract to replace a failed asbestos roof with insulated panels to a factory in Luton, Bedfordshire
  • Undertook inspections to confirm quality of an office to residential conversion in Harrow on behalf of a Local Authority
  • Specified, tendered and administrated an external repairs contract on a Grade II listed private house in Chelsea
  • Undertake a feasibility for the conversion of a timber framed church in Watford including a condition survey report
  • Designed, specified and tendered a contract to refurbish five flats in Central London including the provision of new incoming electrical and water mains
  • Acted as Employer's Representative for the external repair of a large multi-storey property in Central London for a private landowner and a large office fit-out contract
  • Specified, tendered and administered 3 external repairs contracts to multi-storey residential and office blocks in the West End of London and South Kensington locales including stonework repairs, decoration and refurbishment of a clock
  • Project managed the installation of a sundial for a private garden including the design of the foundations and drainage arrangement.
  • Specified and managed the internal decoration of a listed church in Hatfield including the removal and re-application of lime plaster by specialist contractors
  • Specified, tendered and evaluated submissions for the construction of a new carpark within a country estate
